How do I make a claim?

In the unfortunate event that you need to make a claim on your Gallagher TaxPro policy, you will have direct access to the experienced, UK-based claims team from Hiscox who will do all they can to assist you with your problem.

As soon as you become aware of a problem, please contact Gallagher immediately on +44 (0)1245 428 115 (Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 5.30pm) or via They will assist you in making your claim and will also notify Hiscox on your behalf.

You should let us know as soon as possible if you have been notified of a problem with your work which is likely to lead to a claim against your business for compensation, even if you disagree with the complaint being made. Any withholding of payment and suggestions of a complaint should also be notified. Similarly, if you become aware of a shortcoming in your work, it is recommended that you contact us.

If in doubt, it is always best to notify us.

When contacting Gallagher, please provide as much detail of the claim as possible, to include contact details of the key people involved and any documents relevant to the claim. For example a letter from solicitors, details of a complaint and a chronology of events leading up to the problem.

Please also have your policy number to hand to help us deal with your claim more quickly. Your policy number will be on the top of your policy schedule.

Approving your claim

For covered negligence claims, we’ll look at them on a case-by-case basis and recommend the best course of action.

Office insurance

For property loss or damage claims, you can choose your own preferred contractor or supplier to give an estimate.

If your claim is approved and we agree a cash settlement, we’ll pay it directly to your bank account.
